Don’t worry about what others do.
I remind myself of this more and more, whether concerning pandemic response or sustainability.
To provide an example, I’ll go in another direction: dogs’ mess. Ranting about it doesn’t solve the problem. The risk of stepping in it during a moment of inattention remains. Instead, I understand what is within my control. I bag it and at the very least I’ve removed the problem for others. If I’m lucky, someone may be inspired to change their behaviour.
Getting stressed about the behaviour of individuals only damages yourself.
In terms of the pandemic, don’t get angry about how individuals follow the restrictions. There will always be different interpretations or misunderstandings, and we must realise that none of this is within our control.
Similarly with sustainability. Don’t criticise others for perceived failings. Encourage and support. Lead and inspire.
